Sunderland's St Anthony's school confirms coronavirus case to parents as 'small number' of students are told to stay at home
and live on Freeview channel 276
In a letter dated Friday, September 25, the note to families that it has been advised by Public Health England that there has been a case identified within the Thornhill Terrace school.
It has not said whether the person who has had the positive test is a student or staff member.

Hide AdWhen contacted by the Echo, the school said it had no comment.
The correspondence, shared with the Echo through a parent, and signed by headteacher Monica Shepherd goes on to say: “We know that you may find this concerning, but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.
"This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child.
"Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (Covid-19) will be a mild illness.

Hide Ad“The small number of children who have been in direct prolonged contact with the confirmed case will have received an individual letter and will be staying at home for 14 days.
“The school remains open and your child should continue to attend if they remain well.”
It goes on to advise what to do if a child develops symptoms and guidance for those who need to self-isolate and their household and support bubble, as well as measures to reduce the risk.
