As the city celebrated the NHS in lighting landmarks blue, hundreds of you got in touch with your own words of gratitude for their hard work.

Hide AdTracey Hall: “While the NHS workers are total hero’s to whom I am eternally grateful to, there are lots of staff in the private sector frontline now currently also putting their lives at risk not receiving any recognition.
“Total respect to all care retail and domestic staff keeping us safe.”
Bev Smurthwaite: “You are all doing awesome, everyone who works in the NHS cleaners, admin, doctors, nurses to every carer also manning our nursing homes looking after the vulnerable and the elderly you should all get a massive bonus after all this is over.
