Due to open in spring, work is forging ahead at the much-anticipated shipping container village which will feature 51 shipping containers over two floors with a mixture of food traders and retail.
A sister venture to the successful STACK in Newcastle, the £2.5m Seaburn version is a major part of the wider Seafront Regeneration Project and is bringing new life to the former Seaburn Centre site.

Next door, on the site of the old Pullman Lodge, work has also begun on The Seaburn Inn, a new 40-bedroom four-storey pub with rooms being brought to the city by The Inn Collection Group, who run a number of North East pubs including the popular Seaton Lane Inn.
STACK, which is the brainchild of Danieli Holdings, who also run Sunderland’s Hadrian’s Tipi as part of the city’s festive offering, will create 150 jobs.
A number of traders have already been announced including Downey’s Fish & Chips, Acropolis Greek street food, Boojie Burger, Woofs n Scruffs doggy day-care, Healthy Thaim, Café YOLO and Chapos Tacos, with more due to be announced in the coming weeks.

Hide AdNeill Winch, chief executive of Stack, said: “It’s a really exciting part of the build when you start to see the upper floor containers lifted into position, as this starts to give people a real feel for the size and scale of the scheme.
“From this point on the public will be able to visibly see Stack come to life on the seafront.
“Once all of the upper floor containers are in place a lot of work will take place behind the scenes to transform the shipping containers into a vibrant social venue, which we aim to have open to the public before the summer.
“We are still receiving a lot of enquiries for units and with only a few remaining we would urge anyone who is interested to get in touch.”
