12 bands you can see at this year's North East Calling festival
This weekend is the latest incarnation of North East Calling, the region's very own all-day punk festival.
Beginning as Durham Punk festival in 2005, it moved to Newcastle in 2013, and after a year the O2 Academy, seems to have settled at Northumbria University.

"We've got Steve Ignorant, the singer from anarcho-punks Crass, performing with Irish band Paranoid Visions.
"They'll be doing a set of Crass songs, which is quite rare, and I think they'll go down a storm."
This year headliners are Sham 69, featuring singer Jimmy Pursey, Dave Parsons and Dave Treganna from the 'classic' line-up, and ace new drummer Robin Guy.

This year promises to be a memorable one - they're playing their 1979 debut album Teenage Warning in full.
Another local band on the bill are Jarrow street-punks Crashed Out, who are returning after a four-year gap.
Dirt Box Disco, one of the biggest up and coming bands on the punk scene, return for a third year in a row, while there are debut appearances for Hung Like Hanratty and Knock Off.
