In 2018, Durham Constabulary officers were alerted to concerns at the Chester-le-Street care home, where residents’ cards were suspected of being used unlawfully to withdraw cash.
A full investigation was launched by detectives and the entire extent of Poulter’s stealing was finally established.
Poulter, of Edward Road, Birtley, admitted her criminal behaviour when she pleaded guilty to four charges of theft.
She was sentenced to two years and four months in prison at Durham Crown Court on Friday, February 14.
