Man jailed following Horden stabbing which left victim with multiple head injuries

Gavin Jackson was given a 24-month prison sentence after admitting affray and grievous bodily harm at Durham Crown Court on Monday, June 7.
On January 14, shortly before 2am, police were called to reports of a disturbance at an address on Third Street, Horden.

Hide AdOfficers attended and found the victim on the floor with multiple wounds to his head.
Armed officers found Jackson, 34, on a nearby street and arrested him using a taser after he refused to follow instructions.
The victim was taken to Middlesbrough’s James Cook Hospital and was treated for his injuries.
Detective Constable Benjamin Cloke said: “This type of violent behaviour cannot and will not be tolerated by the people of County Durham and Darlington and we will always seek to bring violent offenders to justice with the support of our communities.”
