Man remains under investigation after gang attack stabbing in Sunderland home

A police investigation is under way following reports of an aggravated burglary which saw ‘a number of men’ force their way into a house in Lisa Avenue, South Hylton, in the early hours of Friday, January 24.
The victim suffered ‘non life-threatening injuries consistent with stabbing’ after intruders forced their way into his home shortly before 1am.

Hide AdNorthumbria Police has now confirmed a 36-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and released from police custody, remains under investigation.
A force spokesperson said previously: “It was reported that a number of men had forced their way into an address and were confronted by the occupant.
“Following an altercation, the occupant suffered non-life-threatening injuries consistent with a stabbing.”
