Police launch investigation after intruders break into a Ryhope house and steal a Mercedes car

Officers say that intruders broke into a property on Rodney Close, in the Ryhope area of Sunderland, at around 2.10am on Wednesday, April 28 where they stole the keys to the occupants dark blue Mercedes e220 and made off from the scene in the vehicle.
Police quickly launched an investigation to locate the stolen car, which was recovered at around 10am in Durham.

Hide AdMembers of the public who may have seen the vehicle between 2am and 10am on April 28 are asked to contact officers with any information they may have.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At about 2.20am we received a report that intruders had forced entry to a property on Rodney Close, stolen the keys to the occupants dark blue Mercedes e220 and made off in the vehicle.
"An investigation to locate the vehicle was launched and it was recovered at around 10am in Durham. Enquiries to identify those responsible for the burglary, that took place at about 2.10am, are ongoing.
