Police release update on girl left fighting for her life after being thrown from car bonnet in Morrisons car park

She was taken by the North East Ambulance Service to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, while Northumbria Police launched inquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding what happened.

Hide AdTwo other teenage girls, aged 16 and 18, were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
It is believed all parties are known to each other and the pair have been released on bail as the investigation continues.
Any witnesses have been urged to “do the right thing and pick up the phone” and call police by Sergeant Dave Roberts, who is leading the investigation.
Sgt Roberts, of Northumbria Police’s Operations Department, said in the aftermath of the collision: “We are committed to finding out the circumstances behind this and the events that immediately preceded the girl sustaining these injuries.
