Shopworker pushed to the floor by beer thief at Sunderland 24-hour petrol station

Northumbria Police officers were called to the Morrisons Daily store off the A690 in the Barnes area of the city following a call this morning, Tuesday, March 9.
The force has since confirmed a man has been charged in relation to the incident at the shop.

Hide AdThe incident is not related to ram raids which also happened in Sunderland on Tuesday morning.
A spokesperson said: “Shortly after 3am today we received a report of a theft at a petrol station garage on Durham Road, Sunderland.
“It was reported that a man entered the shop and stole a crate of beer.
"When confronted by a female shopworker, the man then pushed her before causing damage to the door.

Hide Ad“A 24-year-old man was arrested and has since been charged with theft, criminal damage and common assault.
"He is due to appear before magistrates in South Tyneside next month.”
