Teenager taken to hospital with stab wound after disturbance in Grange Villa

An investigation is ongoing and Durham Constabulary has confirmed ‘several’ people have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody.
Emergency services were called to Albert Street, Grange Villas, at around 9.20pm last night (Saturday, July 25), to reports of a disturbance.

Hide AdDuring the incident, an 18-year-old man is believed to have suffered serious injuries.
North East Ambulance Service has confirmed they took the man to hospital who had suffered a stab wound during an alleged assault.
Police say his injuries are serious but are not believed to be life-threatening.
A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said: “Several people have been arrested and are currently in custody. Enquiries are ongoing.

A police cordon has remained in place in Albert Street today (Sunday, July 26) as an investigation takes place.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “We received several calls to an incident on Albert Street at around 9.24pm last night to reports of a man who had been assaulted and was suffering from a stab wound.
"We sent a hazardous area response team, a paramedic ambulance and a specialist paramedic and transported one patient to the Royal Victoria Infirmary.”
