Two men break into Houghton salon closed due to lockdown and steal till
GB Boutique Hair and Beauty Salon, in South Street, Newbottle, is calling for anyone with CCTV to come forward following the break in which occurred shortly before 9.25pm on Monday, April 5.
Northumbria Police have confirmed they were called to reports the front door of the salon had been smashed by two men who entered and stole the till.

Hide AdThey are believed to have fled the scene in a dark coloured car.
Posting on Facebook GB Boutique said: “Two people took it upon themselves to break into the salon, stealing valuables but also ruining what should be a happy time.
"Not only have they shown they have no morals but also scared family members in the process. We are a small independent business just working hard like everyone else. If anyone has any CCTV around the area please get in touch.
“On a positive note we will come back thriving when the doors open next week.”

Hide AdDue to the third lockdown the salon has been closed since January and is set to reopen on April 12 as restrictions are eased.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “It was reported that the front door of the property had been smashed by two males who entered the shop and stole the till. The males have then made off from the scene in a dark coloured car.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police by calling 101 or using the Tell us Something page on our website, quoting log 980 050421.”
