HMS Blyth captain talks us through First World War torpedo explosion plan
The crew of the HMS Blyth will carried out a controlled explosion to render the device safe today - after parts of a historical wreckage were found on the seabed.
HMS Blyth’s Commanding Officer Lt Cdr Peter Higgins AFC explained the process to the Echo in a short clip.

Hide AdHe added: "The purpose of why we are doing this is to make the area safe.
"The last thing we want is for a fisherman or similar to drag up the torpedo or get themselves in any trouble in that way."
The work has just begun at the coast, and will continue throughout the morning.
