Jury sent home for evening in Ronnie Howard murder trial
Michael Wilson has admitted the manslaughter of Ronnie Howard, 31, who he “punched and kicked” during a night out at the Prince Edward pub in South Shields on May 4.
Married father-of-three Wilson, 35, of Hylton Avenue, South Shields, denies murder and is being tried at Newcastle Crown Court.

Hide AdJurors deliberated for two hours before Mrs Justice Laing sent them home for the evening.
The jury will retire again and resume discussions tomorrow.
Prosecutors claim Wilson intended to cause really serious harm and had planned to “knock out” Mr Howard.
Wilson denies he had an intention to hurt Mr Howard and has told the court he was “devastated” by his death, which was due to a traumatic subarachnoid haemorrhage.
The trial continues.
