One woman taken to hospital following three vehicle collision in Sunderland
Police were called to Newcastle Road in Sunderland at 8.15am this morning, June 15 following reports of a road traffic collision involving three vehicles.
Officers confirmed that one woman has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Hide AdA Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At 8.15am today (Tuesday) we received a report of a three-vehicle collision on Newcastle Road, Sunderland.
“Emergency services remain at the scene. One woman was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries."
The Ambulance service also attended the scene.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call to reports of a three vehicle road traffic collision on Newcastle Road at 8.24am this morning, in which a person was thought to be trapped.
"We sent one ambulance and conveyed a woman to Sunderland Royal Hospital with chest and arm injuries.”
All lanes have since reopened.
