Emma Olsen and Ray Knox, of Grindon Young People’s Centre, are appealing for donations of chocolate eggs as the countdown to Easter continues.
The eggs will be donated to children who find themselves at Sunderland Royal Hospital over the Easter weekend and to families in the Grindon area who are struggling.

Hide AdEmma, who also hosts an annual fundraiser to provide selection boxes and gifts to children in hospital over Christmas, says they have received donations from local businesses and residents but hope to gather as many Easter Eggs as possible to spread some cheer this weekend.
"The kids and families are still not able to do what we would normally be doing during the Easter holidays. The holiday club for families in need isn’t able to run as usual so we want to help in whatever way we can,” said Emma.
"We’ve received so many kind donations but we’re hoping to get as many as possible. Thank you so much to everyone for their continued support.”
The donations will be going to S.W.A.K holiday club, Sunderland Royal Hospital’s children’s wards and families in need in Grindon and the surrounding area.
