Now, an inquest is due to be heard at Sunderland Civic Centre on July 13, 2021.
Ryan’s dad Brian Collier said: “We’re still in a lot of distress and we have lots of questions that need answers – It’s been a difficult time.
"It’s been absolutely horrendous and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through what we’ve been through, it’s still pretty raw and we still get upset about it.”

Hide AdRyan, who has been described as the ‘friendliest and loveliest lad’, had flown out to Turkish resort Marmaris last October for a break from his security job.
Parents Brian and Elizabeth Collier had travelled to Turkey to be by their son’s bedside after the fall.
His family said previously that Ryan did have travel insurance but, due to complications with coronavirus restrictions, it was understood to be void.
Ryan, who has three brothers Lewis, Darren and Craig Collier, has been described as ‘a lovely lad who would do anything for anyone’.
