Hide AdJade, a careworker at Falstone Manor care home in Roker, died on August 12, less than three month after she was diagnosed with the illness.
Mum Sharron Shovlin explained that Jade’s symptoms began as heartburn.
She said: “It all started with a pain in her side and what can only be described as heartburn. She was going to the doctors and Jade kept telling them that she knew her own body and that something was seriously wrong.
"With how rare the cancer is, the doctors and nurses didn’t really know what to do or how to treat it properly.”

Hide AdJade sadly leaves behind her mum Sharron, brother Matthew and her two sisters, Jessica and Jennifer.
Blood tests have now shown that Jade’s cancer is not genetic and the family are not at risk, news which Sharron said had brought the family some relief at this difficult time.
