Inquest held into death of Sunderland dad Paul Hutchinson who died after street attack

Paul Hutchinson died on Tuesday, May 14 last year just days after suffering life-threatening injuries in the city’s Edward Burdis Street.
Northumbria Police said he suffered serious, life-threatening injuries in an assault on Sunday, May 12.

Hide AdThe inquest into Paul’s death was held at Newcastle Civic Centre on Thursday, February 27. Coroner Karen Dilks recorded a conclusion of misadventure at the hearing.
A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed to the Echo on Wednesday, March 4 that no charges were brought in relation to a man previously arrested in connection with Paul’s death.
When Paul lost his life, his family paid a touching tribute to the man who was the “life and soul” of the party and would “live on forever” in their hearts.
