One of the group founders, Sarah Trueman, said: “The people of Washington astound us every time with their generosity, it’s really overwhelming and such a joy on the day of the collecting, especially when we drop off at the food banks and you see that they are genuinely overjoyed with the amount of food they’re receiving.”
Throughout the pandemic, the group’s work has been vital to supporting community organisations ensuring struggling families get the help they need.
Leave a Tin Washington is organised entirely by volunteers and the group plan to continue their hard work supporting vulnerable families beyond the pandemic and into the future.
