Amber Peters, aged 22 from Silksworth, was set to compete in the national Miss England competition on Thursday, June 24, however organisers have delayed it after the Government extended Covid restrictions.
Now the newly crowned Miss Sunderland will be competing on Friday, August 27, giving her more time to prepare for the big event.

Hide AdAmber, who currently works as a model and is hoping to study English in London later this year, has told the Echo how her planning for the national event is going.
She said: “It’s actually a bit of a relief that it has been postponed as there are girls who are in the competition that have been there since last year after it was cancelled.
"So it felt like I had been thrown in at the deep end, obviously I’m excited but as I say, it is a relief as it means that I have more time to prepare and do things like dress shopping.
"I’m really looking forward to the actual night of the competition as it will be a manifestation of all the work that I’ve put into it over the last few months.”

She set up an online fundraiser for Beauty With A Purpose – a charity that helps to support children across the globe.
Amber added: “I have so many people there to support me, my family are just going crazy for it all.
"They have all said that they are so proud of me and I’m just over the moon with how everything is going in the lead up to it.

"Hopefully people will continue to vote for me in the ‘Miss Popularity’ category, I can’t thank everyone enough for their support.”
