Police still investigating A690 crash which killed Sunderland dad Richie Jordan
Richie Jordan, 33, died on August 4, 2019, following a crash on the A19 at Houghton, three miles south of the junction for the A690, in the early hours of the morning.
Described as a ‘lovely lad’, dad-of-one Richie, is survived by his partner Carol and daughter Quinn.

Hide AdHe was known to be a well respected football player and played for both Sunderland RCA FC and Ryhope CW.
Richie also played for the Henderson’s Sunday League Team for three seasons.
An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned at Sunderland Coroner’s Court in 2019 and a pre-inquest review was held at the same coroner’s court on Wednesday, February 12.

Hide AdSunderland's senior coroner Derek Winter adjourned the inquest until Wednesday, June 10, to allow police to continue with their inquiries.
Mr Winter said: “I opened the inquest last year and it has been adjourned so that police can conclude their inquiries.
“Until their inquiries are concluded I can’t make a decision about what to do with the inquest hearing.
“If the police proceed to make charges, then this inquest will be adjourned pending criminal proceedings.
“Until we get to that stage we can’t make a decision on what to do.”
Mr Winter adjourned the inquest until Wednesday, June 10, at Sunderland Coroner’s Court, pending police inquiries.
