As a rise in Covid-19 cases across the North East leads to a rise in hospital admissions, staff at Morrisons decided to give back to the staff who are working so hard throughout the pandemic.
The supermarket’s stores across the region have joined forces to donate a variety of gifts to say thank you.

Hide AdDavinia Cain, community champion at the Seaburn Morrisons store, said: “Given the rise in coronavirus cases and the added strain to our local hospital, we wanted to work together to bring a random act of kindness to the hospital staff.
“Myself and two of my colleagues, Jane Smith and Mark Patterson, went to the intensive care unit to deliver a collaborative donation from all of our Morrisons stores in the area to really celebrate and thank the colleagues for the work that they continue to do during this very trying time.
“A mixture of sweets, chocolates, bath bombs, water and other pamper treats were delivered and greatly appreciated by the staff bringing some joy to their day.”
Morrisons is continuing to support the NHS with their extended 10% discount to all NHS staff until January 31, 2021.
