Police called to help person on Roker Pier following family's calls for concern
Northumbria Police have confirmed officers were called to a male in distress at Roker Pier at around 1am this morning.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said officers were called at 1am to a male at Roker Pier. He was located and returned safely to his family.

Hide AdThe coastguard were also called out at 1.15am to assist police officers.
As the team were leaving the station they received an update that the person was safe and they were no longer needed.
