Sunderland man found safe and well following police and RNLI search at River Wear

Sunderland Coastguard Rescue Team was called out to the river at around 6.30am to search for a possible person in the water, but was later stood down from the scene.
A Northumbria Police spokesman confirmed to the Echo that the man had been found safe and well following a search.

Hide AdHe said in a statement on Wednesday: “Shortly before 5.30am today we received a report of concern for a man who had left an address in the Padgate Road area of Sunderland.
“A missing person investigation was launched and a wide-ranging search was carried out in order to locate the male and ensure he was safe and well.
“He was successfully located in the Pennywell area of the city and was offered support by officers.”
