Photographer Phil Wright was wrapped up warm to capture these wild shots – taken at Seaham – between Easter Monday, April 5, and Wednesday, April 7. We can almost feel the cold of the wind in our cheeks as the pier takes a battering from the sea.
The recent drop in temperature saw parts of the region hit by snow in frost earlier this week – a real shock to the system after a splash of sunshine in the run-up to Easter.
Met Office forecasters predict some cold nights ahead this week, but there will be some sunshine in store for the daylight hours.
Here is a selection of Phil’s fantastic photographs.
