Danny Rose makes Sunderland revelation after Newcastle United debut

The loan signing made his Newcastle United debut in yesterday’s goalless draw against Norwich City.
Rose, signed on a half-season loan from Tottenham Hotspur this week, came off the bench against Daniel Farke’s side.

Hide AdAnd the 29-year-old – who spent the 2012/13 season on loan at Sunderland – wondered what kind of reception he would get at St James’s Park given his previous association with the club’s rivals.
Rose said: "I was half wondering if I’d get a bit of stick, but, I’d just like to say thank you for the warm reception. I know that I’ll win everybody over in time, once I get some rhythm and some game-time.
"Whenever I’ve played here either as a Sunderland player or a Tottenham player, I’ve always been in awe of the atmosphere – and the passion of the fans.”
Rose spoke about now being able to find a "decent” fish and chip shop after moving to Newcastle – and fans sung “Danny Rose, he loves fish and chips”.

Hide Ad“It was brilliant,” said Rose. "I tried not to laugh, but, yeah, it was one of the best I've heard to be fair.
"When I ran on I did (get a tingle). There was this roar, and I got goosebumps. It was amazing, but I can't say I am surprised, really. It's something I have seen as an opposing player.”
