Injured Newcastle United star set for earlier than expected return – report
The frontman was named in the Magpies’ 25-man Premier League squad for the first half of the 2020/21 season, highlighting the fact the player, in the final year of his United deal, will be back before the end of the year.
And, according to Football Insider, the player is likely to be back in the final month of the year to stake a claim for a new deal on Tyneside.

Hide AdGayle scored four goals at the end of last season, impressing when trusted to lead the line by manager Steve Bruce.
Meanwhile, former Bruce player Robbie Savage has declared his ex-manager will have done a ‘wonderful’ job should he again guide the Magpies to another mid-table Premier League finish.
Speaking to the Premier League ahead of United’s visit to Wolves at the weekend, Savage said: “I know, playing for Steve Bruce at Birmingham, he always said, 'You're only as good as your strikers and your attacking options'. We had [Christophe] Dugarry, Mikael Forssell, [Emile] Heskey.
"We built our team around those players because when you're that kind of team, mid-table for Birmingham would be amazing. If Newcastle can finish mid-table again, I think Steve Bruce will have done wonderfully."

Hide AdElsewhere, DeAndre Yedlin made the cut in the United 25-man squad at the expense of Ghanian international winger Christian Atsu.
Rolando Aarons, Achraf Lazaar and Henri Saivet were also left out having been cut out the first-team picture by Bruce, as expected.
