Sky Sports pundit claims Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is 'much better' than Rafa Benitez
Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas claims that Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is doing a ‘much better job’ than predecessor Rafa Benitez.
Benitez was extremely popular at St James’ Park, and when he left Tyneside, Bruce’s appointment was initially greeted with a relatively disinterested response.

Hide AdBruce has overseen some notable victories, including a home win over Manchester United and an impressive away win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Gary Lineker recently claimed that Bruce has ‘always been a good manager’ on Match of the Day, and former Arsenal man Nicholas is also keen to praise the Newcastle gaffer.
Speaking in his predictions column, he said: “They (Newcastle United) are very impressive away from home but lack a bit of the cutting edge.
“Steve Bruce has brought the passion back, and they are nicking points here and there. I think the Newcastle fans are accepting what Bruce can do with a fairly average bunch. He is doing a much better job than what Rafael Benitez did.”
Nicholas is tipping a 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane.
