On Semenyo, Parkinson has previously told the Echo: “He is a player we have looked at and has pace and power. He is someone we have been monitoring.”
League Two sides Swindon Town and Newport County are also interested.
In terms of outgoings, Dylan McGeouch and Aiden McGeady could both leave the Stadium of Light this window, with strong interest in McGeady after he was told he had no future at the club.
