The attacker has been in scintillating form since returning to the fold under Lee Johnson, bagging 12 assists and netting four goals in League One.
But McGeady’s deal is set to run out this summer, and with the former Republic of Ireland international having just turned 35, it remains to be seen whether he will be offered fresh terms.

We asked Black Cats supporters just that on our Facebook and Twitter pages – and people certainly were quick to react:
On Twitter, @BenCra1g: “Geads has to stay, not just because of his ability but because of his ambitious mentality that rubs off on the squad. That’s why Parkinson wanted him out and it’s part of the reason why we are doing so well atm.”
@RWMDAWSON agreed: “Doesn't matter what league we are in. He'd be a good player to have in your squad in either division. The only difference would be how many minutes he would get.”

@David_Cull added: “I think he could still do a job on the Championship and I would be happy if he was offered another 2 years.”
On Facebook, Ian Taggart stated: “Yes. Even if he’s on the bench or squad player he’s worth the extra year at least. Even starting depending where we are and what we do in the summer.”
Ian Porter said: “Who wouldn't want to retain the best player in the league? His attitude has been excellent, even during the Parky era when he was made to train with the U23's. Age is irrelevant if you're fit & your knees haven't gone, but I trust the current ownership & management to do what's best for the club.”
Tony Crompton pointed out: “Stanley Matthews played at 40.”
