Sunderland AFC unveil a redesign of their famous club crest as they urge supporters to stay indoors

Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday urged the population to remain indoors as much as possible, as he looks to turn the tide of the COVID-19 outbreak.
And the Black Cats have contributed to the national drive to encourage people to stay at home by unveiling a new-look club crest – which shows the famous lions spread apart to emphasise the need to distance in these difficult times.

Hide AdSharing the new-look crest – which will be present on the club’s social media channels in the coming weeks – the club said: “We might be further apart but we're all in this together. #StayHomeSaveLives.”
Sunderland aren’t the first club to redesign their badge as the sporting world looks to do their bid to enforce important messages.
