Grayson made no fewer than then signings during his time with the Black Cats, in what was an ultimately forgettable reign. So, where are the players signed by Grayson now? Scroll down and click through the pages as we take a look at where there careers headed after Grayson’s departure:
1. Aiden McGeady
The only player signed by Grayson who remains at the Stadium of Light, McGeady has been a shining light since his arrival from Everton. He’s found himself in and out the team in recent weeks, but remains a key player. Photo: FRANK REID
2. James Vaughan
Signed from Bury, Vaughan was an underwhelming addition by Grayson as he netted just twice in his 27 appearances on Wearside. He went on to join Wigan Athletic, before being released at the end of last season. He’s now plying his trade for Bradford City in League Two. Photo: Mark Runnacles
3. Jason Steele
Mixed form stunted Steele’s progress at the Stadium of Light, as he lost his place in the side to Robbin Ruiter and latterly Lee Camp during the ill-fated 2017/18. He was surprisingly signed by Brighton & Hove Albion after the Black Cats’ relegation to League One, and he remains there to this day. He’s made just one senior appearance since his move, though. 4. Robbin Ruiter
The Dutch stopper was another who struggled for regular opportunities after being signed by Grayson, with his former having dipped. He was released by Sunderland in the summer, but was quickly snapped-up by Dutch giants PSV. Photo: Nigel Roddis
