Here's what to expect as Sunderland Airshow takes virtual flight this weekend
and live on Freeview channel 276

The annual event, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors to the seafront, was due to take place this weekend, but has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Instead, organisers have confirmed that a virtual airshow will take place between tonight, Friday, July 24, and Sunday, July 26.

Hide AdVisitors to the airshow’s Facebook page will be able to enjoy a host of displays from previous shows, featuring the likes of The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, The Red Arrows, The RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team, a pair of C-47 Dakotas and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and more.
This summer is be the first time in 32 years that the airshow has been cancelled – but Council bosses have confirmed that it will return next year.
The online fun even kicks off in traditional airshow style, with musical performances this evening, while visitors will be invited to share their airshow memories on Sunday.
